ToolKit For Life Programme

Our six week Toolkit For Life (WRL) Programme focuses on career guidance, work preparation and the personal and social development of students in Years 8-11 particularly those from vulnerable or disadvantaged groups.

Depending on the students' year group, at the end of the programme students will have gained evidence for specific units of:

  • NCFE Level 1 Award Personal and Social Development and/or:

  • NCFE Level 1/ 2 Award in Employability Skills

The content ensures that young people develop the knowledge and understanding, skills, capabilities and attributes which they need for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing now and in the future.

The programme aims to increase students:

  • Understanding of their skills, abilities and interests.

  • Understanding of the careers that might appeal to them

  • Knowledge about options (6th Form, college, apprenticeships, university, voluntary work)

  • Knowledge about their next steps and they can start to put things into action

  • Motivation to work hard at school to achieve their goals.

  • Likelihood of moving to a positive destination, for example further education, employment or training, or a supported internship

If your school or college is based in Coventry, we offer the ToolKit For Life Programme as a WRL provider for Coventry City Council
